I had the privilege of working with Connection Church in Canton, Michigan to develop the theme for their church’s app this past month. The church produced an app to connect with its congregation and promote items like events, podcasts, small groups, and videos. Their staff already created the wireframe for the app, but needed me to design a modern user interface to boost traffic and engage returning visitors.
The staff at Connection Church in Canton were so kind and professional to work with during the app’s theme development. They made the process fun and easy, and I’m so excited to see the release of the final design.
THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION
As a brand developer and graphic designer, it’s my goal to track down my client’s design “problem” in order to find the right solution for the job. Connection Church had an existing design that they weren’t in love with, but they couldn’t update the main home screen until early spring 2016 due to App Store restrictions. This presented a problem, since they wanted to update their icons and buttons right away. To fix the problem, I created several design options and included a set of icons that matched their current design. I also created a second, matching design with a blue color palette to follow their existing branding. This way they could seamlessly update the app down the road. Problem solved!
